Gorillas

Remembering Kibumbu, an infant mountain gorilla in Sabinyo Group, Rwanda in October 1993.

Nearly 30 years on I wonder whether he or she (difficult to know gender at this age) survived. His/her mother walked right past me ignoring the 15 feet distance rule, and as she passed by, I saw she was carrying her youngster on her back.

A lucky photo with my basic film camera. This is a scanned version of the original print photo so the quality is not too good, but the picture in my mind will be with me always.
